It was once when people astonished for reality TV shows. Shows like Jodi No.1, Super singer, etc., are (/were/ will be )running good. Of course you cannot arrive at a comprehensive list of either soap serials or Reality TV shows. One cannot say a reality show is good or bad because "Taste and opinion differs from person to person". At the end it should entertain the one who is watching it.
I am here to talk about one such reality show that keeps me entertaining (till now). It's Naalya Iyakkunar (Tomorrow's Director)!!
You could find answers for the questions that are arising in your mind now.
What is it?
Naalya Iyakkunar is a reality show based on short films from numerous budding directors. In each round all of them will be given a (or a set of genre) with which short films have to be made. Each episode will screen 3 short films. Every week there will be awards for "Best movie of the week", "Best performer", "Best technician" and of course one "Elimination"(If all of the films are good, then there will be no elimination). One of the all eliminated directors will be selected for finals via wildcard round. Hope it's a common rule for all reality shows!!!
When is it?
It is being telecasted in "Kalaignar TV" on every Sunday between 10 30 am and 11 30 am. Now season 3, second round is going on.
Why?
In case of any soap serial or reality show you could see only repetitive things. It's the same thing wrapped with a different cover in different TV. The only thing that differs is the number and duration of the commercial breaks they take!!! Here it's totally different. If you are fond of stories then you would love this program for sure. I could see a lot of brilliant stories and I see they are getting better day by day. There are occasions where producers went ahead and said that they were ready to produce the movies of them and few directors made them as their associates. One concrete example would be "Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi" movie which is based on a short film created by director Balaji Mohan. Apparently he was one of the competitors of Nalaya Iyakkunar.
So, its really good.. If you are still finding it unconvincing then I would request you to watch the following few of the best short movies filmed over there.
